Talent Stories I Meet Martin, Project Consultant in Nuclear Engineering
Martin, Project Consultant in Nuclear Engineering, is celebrating his first anniversary at Catalay. After one year of experience, he shares his journey and what he particularly enjoys about his role and the company.
A rewarding and diverse assignment
As a project engineer in the nuclear industry, Martin is involved in both technical and operational tasks. "My job is quite varied, from studies and calculations to on-site visits. This mix of theory and practice makes my mission very interesting," he explains. "There’s a real sense of adventure in what I do. The fact that I can see firsthand what we study is really valuable”.
Support and skill development
After one year at Catalay, Martin notices significant growth in his technical and organisational skills. "I wasn’t sure what I wanted to develop after university, but now I can clearly see my progress. We are supported at every step," he says.
"Consultancy offers a certain level of freedom while still providing support. If my current assignment no longer suits me or if I want to switch sectors, I can discuss it openly with my manager. This is really a key point for me. I feel listened to and supported at every step," Martin mentions.
Although he is satisfied with his progress, he wants to continue expanding his technical skills. "Technical knowledge is truly my passion, and I know that at Catalay, there are opportunities to go even further," he explains.
A humane experience after all
Martin also enjoys the friendly atmosphere at Catalay and the events organized by the company. "The karting event right after signing my contract was great. It helped me get to know my colleagues better," he recalls. These events help strengthen team spirit and offer a chance to unwind outside of work.
Beyond events, Martin has started a sort of end-of-year tradition with the team. "My family grows Christmas trees, so in 2023 and 2024, I brought some trees to decorate the offices. It’s a small contribution, but it makes me and the team happy," he says.
Final thoughts
One year after joining Catalay, Martin feels grateful for his journey. "I feel supported and heard. What motivates me is knowing I still have much to learn. Catalay gives me a lot of freedom while supporting my growth," he concludes.
Thank you Martin for sharing more about your journey at Catalay!
