Job Description

For an international, technically oriented company based in East Flanders, we are looking for an After Sales Engineer to support the continued growth of its spare parts and after-sales activities.

In this role, you will combine technical expertise with commercial skills and customer interaction. You will ensure that customers worldwide receive the right spare parts, replacement components and technical solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of their machines.

You will also identify opportunities to proactively advise customers on upgrades, improvements and maintenance solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity to have a direct impact on customer satisfaction while contributing to the further development of the after-sales business.

Your Responsibilities

  • You manage the entire spare parts process, from the initial customer request through to final delivery.

  • You analyse machine configurations to identify the correct spare parts, replacement components, upgrades and technical solutions.

  • You prepare quotations and manage pricing in the ERP system, ensuring both technical and commercial accuracy.

  • You identify commercial opportunities and proactively advise customers on upgrades, improvements, preventive maintenance and solutions to extend machine lifespan.

  • You build strong customer relationships through regular contact and international customer visits. This involves travelling internationally approximately 30% of your time.

  • You work closely with Engineering, Service, Production and Logistics to ensure accurate and timely delivery.

  • You maintain clear communication with customers and ensure accurate administrative follow-up.

  • You actively contribute ideas to optimise processes, workflows and service delivery within the after-sales department.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a technical background who enjoys working in a customer-oriented and commercial role. You take ownership, think proactively and actively look for solutions and opportunities.

You will also recognise yourself in the following profile:

  • You have a technical degree or relevant technical experience, preferably in a machine-building environment.

  • You have an interest in or experience with pricing, sales and managing prices in ERP systems.

  • You can translate technical information into clear, customer-friendly explanations.

  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy building long-term customer relationships.

  • You are proactive, positive and take initiative.

  • You work in a structured and accurate manner, paying attention to technical details, documentation and follow-up.

  • You take ownership of your cases and ensure that tasks are followed through to completion.

  • You have excellent spoken and written English skills. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.

  • You are willing to travel internationally approximately 30% of your time.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic, international and technically challenging working environment.

  • A competitive salary package with attractive fringe benefits.

  • An extensive training programme and personal guidance from a dedicated mentor.

  • A friendly and collaborative working atmosphere, with activities such as after-work drinks, sports activities, a summer barbecue and a Christmas gathering.

  • An easily accessible workplace close to the motorway.

  • 32 days of annual leave: 20 statutory holidays and 12 additional compensatory leave days (ADV).
